Mckays Hotel, Pitlochry

The hotel's location is convenient, being in the center of town and across the road from the train station, but the rooms were a bit disappointing with damaged ceilings and inadequate window fittings. Service was excellent, particularly in accommodating our room preferences, although it felt somewhat aggressive in dealing with certain issues. The dining was a mix of delicious dishes like haggis and black pudding but lacked variety with a limited menu selection. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, with lovely sofas in the large lobby, but being above a pizza place has its drawbacks.

I stayed at a hotel that was across the street from the main building, above Cafe Scozzia. The rooms were comfortable and dog-friendly, although there was potential noise from live music. The service provided was more than satisfactory, including a welcoming drink and pet amenities, despite some issues. The location was attractive with a good ambience and exemplary in handling noise problems. The dining experience was delightful, with plenty of choices, especially the Scottish haggis and black pudding. The pool area provided a pleasant retreat, and the price was considered reasonable even though there were some drawbacks.

The service was excellent and very helpful, with a lovely touch of a complimentary lunch due to delays. The location was central and convenient, right on Pitlochry's main street. The dining experience was a bit basic but had some standout items like excellent porridge. Facilities were satisfactory.

The hotel was in the city center, making it convenient for our further journey north. The rooms needed a deep clean and were quite small, but we enjoyed being in the main building on the first floor. The service was exemplary, especially when they moved us to a more suitable room due to my mobility issues. The location, although in the middle of Pitlochry, could benefit from better insulation, but it was still alright for our needs. The dining experience was a bit chaotic with limited staff, but the kitchen team deserves a thumbs up for their efforts. The facilities were modern and new, although the butter was served on cold plates.
